What’s in my Travel Makeup Bag! (+ Travel Makeup Case Review)

Find out what makeup & brushes I need with me when travelling!
This video also includes a review of the Kit Cosmetics Jet Setter Travel Makeup Case and a comparison to the Laura Mercier Custom Artist Portfolio.

Get the makeup bag shown here: http://www.kitcosmetics.com.au/products/kitcosmetics/ltdedtravelmakeupcase/
Price: $69.95

Overall I like this makeup case although I wish the price was a little more reasonable. I also think it takes up more space than a traditional makeup bag to store the same amount of product, however it does store it ‘better’ and is easier to use. Great for the organisation freak (like myself) 😉

aw 🙁 i use real technique brushes the most. so they dont fit?

Lisa Archibald says:

I take 2 small / medium transparent bags with me when travelling. One for skincare & one for make-up.
Transparent bags so you can easily pick out anything you need.
I limit my travel cosmetics to about maximum 6 items.
Fave foundation, fave mascara, fave blush, 2 fave lippies,
Etc.
it was good to see the kit case though, thanks Rach.
I keep skincare samples from skincare brands I know suit my skin for travel purposes too.
A. huge packing tip i learnt is that if you have owned an item ( make up item, clothing) for a while and never use it at home dont decide to pack it thinking ” i will use this on holidays” cos you probably wont.

sas pridham says:

That case would annoy me, having to open up pouches like that

I have a handful of brushes and I keep them in the container I got when i purchased a couple of brushes from Models Preferred to keep them in shape. Great vid rach! This was very informative on the travel case and your packing tips. Also agree that when I’m on holidays I usually don’t use eyeshadows but I will pack a neutral cream eyeshadow and a couple of colored eyeliners for a variety.

Lisa P says:

Yes I’m off to New York and Canada next year. I will probably take my absolute favourites – gimme brows, shu uemura eyelash curler and eyebrow pencil, nars Laguna bronzer, the balm May Lou manzier highlighter, they’re real mascara, nars eyelid primer, porefessional, Estée Lauder double wear foundation, powder, a few lipsticks and glosses, nars deep throat blusher and my real techniques brushes (as few as possible). Not sure about an eye palette yet – that will be toughest choice. Looking forward to purchasing some Urban Decay palettes while I’m there.
