Slicks Business Carry-on Backpack Review

The Slicks backpack offers a lot for the business traveller. Let’s see if it keeps its promises.

UPDATE: Hey y’all, got some feedback from the Slicks bag makers. They say they’ve had a version of this bag out since 2011 and “During this time, we never yet had to replace / repair Slicks for broken zippers – including the small zippers that you mention in your review.” Great response from these guys.

From the company website slicks.com: The Slicks Travel System is designed as a modular luggage system, available either as a base backpack only or in three tailored options (SUIT, TRIP & BIZ), each with additional internal inserts to expand the function of the pack. The PACK is a great travel bag that can meet the demands of all kinds of travel, be it your daily commute to work, leisure getaway or business trip. With a host of pockets and features on the exterior and interior of the backpack, you can organize your belongings the way you want.

I was waiting for your review last year before my 7-month long trip, but you did not post it 🙁 and I bought it. This is really a bad backpack. I’ll get a Minaal or Tortuga hopefully soon.

Ritch Flynn says:

You are one wacky dude… love it! Checked out your podcast, love the bag reviews too.. though I’m way into the more rugged looking bags for sure – some of these business-y bags end up looking dorky as hell. Theres a few good offerings which balance durability, longevity and style: saddleback leather, Buffalo Jackson, Brooks, Coach, 511tactical and Muji are some of the ones that caught my attention as well as some of the cool garment bags from jacktreads, and combatant gentlemen… some ideas for your future vids perhaps… love to see you do more of these 😉
