I use to have the same as Scott but sold it to the apprentice and now I use a tool vest made by Bjornklader in combination with there carpenter pro pants(or something like that) and man did it ever changed my life, super light weight, super comfy, really low profile so you don’t get tangled into rafters and floor joists etc…
Do you do your own flushing?
Where do you guys get those tool belt straps from in NZ ?? Any help
Not sure if they have them over there but you should look at Diamondback tool belts, they make a bomber product also
Pareau has the right idea. Less is more. I’m 57 and my back is fucked. That is in no small measure because of a massive tool belt loaded to the nuts will everything I might need, “just in case”.
Cool vids brothers. Really like your guys style and how you go about your business. Keep up the great work and continue to inspire us. Big ups to you both!!
teno pai paerau! what a natural on screen fulla
what folding ruler is that??
Possibly an oxy leather rig as a Christmas present for your second in command Scott??
Not a tool belt at all. We like to call them nail bags. You fellas call them noggs we call them dwangs!! Great vids pal. All the best from the Deep South
I’m obsessed with the way Paerau says “pencil pocket” at 2:22
Batman and Robin comparing their utility bat belts for next video.
Great Video. I use the pro trimmer belt from occidental. It’s essentially the same as your 7 bag framer, just smaller. Only thing I wish it had is that neat little speed square slot yours has
Where did the bro get his braces?
Alright the scotty boy lets talk about the Japanese chisel you used in the rotten post video. Where did you get it and who made the little beauty
I have a set of big bags when I’m doing house construction, but a totally different set up for film work: I have to have a screw gun or impact driver holster. I typically hate things down my back side, I’m always squatting down to do base or whatever, crawling under stages etc. But when I’m banging homes together I have nearly exactly what you pros sport- except for the suspenders [braces]. Honestly, it’s been a few decades since I was on a big house crew, and was just discovering the lower back pain Mr. P mentioned- so braces would be the next purchase. If I build another big house. My big house for now is the annual Haunted House I set up for the island kids [discarded movie scenery- very scary].
does anyone use buckeroo brand belts? I’m considering them vs. the occidental bags.

I have the ultimate framer rig and love it. Took the back pouch off and the spare hammer loop, use them when I set forms and odd piddly stuff where I don’t need much.
No thanks to carrying all that weight around all day. I keep my nail bag setup as lightweight as possible all the time.
Belt:
1x 2 pocket pouch.
Hammer holder.
Tape holder.
Chisel + pencil holder combo.
Tools:
1x hammer
1x tape measure
1x combo square.
1x pincers
2x chisels
2x pencils
2x nail punch
Thanks for the vids! I’m a carpenter in Colorado. 23 years of swinging a hammer! My wife and I are considering emigrating to NZ, so it’s nice to see how tradesmen operate and do business!
I get backpain from the suspenders. I had the snicker belt and though built belt. Now i have milwaukee belt. Also backpain with suspenders. So no suspenders for me.
Hey Scott
What is the brand name of your hammer you use Cheers
Don’t be offended Scott we know you’re the main man but there’s something about Paerau that shouts out he needs his own t-shirt line, with his name emblazoned on the front.
His personality, his cooking, the slightly esoteric nature of his name if you’re not familiar with Maori, seriously I see cult.
No eye rolling now, think about it.
We need more POTER! He’s always hiding in the background lol
