Arc’teryx Blade 28 Backpack Review | Minimalist One Bag Travel Pack Or Weekend Bag

The Arc’teryx Blade 28 is a solid one bag travel pack for the ultra-minimalist or a weekend pack for everyone else. It’s a good bag with excellent build quality and ample packing space, but we were hoping for something that would set it apart from the competition. View Details & Buy: https://packha.kr/zq2b

The Blade 28 is a small travel pack from Arc’teryx, a company known for creating top-notch—and pricy—outdoor and adventure gear. From jackets and base layers to backpacks and climbing harnesses, they seem to do it all. And from what we can tell, they’re doing a great job.

After testing the Arc’teryx Blade 28 for about a month, it’s clear that this bag is very well made, with solid materials throughout. The side grab handles are a small feature that really shined during our testing, and the main compartment is very packable, with more space than you’d think upon first review. In general, the bag feels larger than it looks. That said, we think the laptop compartment could be closer to the wearer’s back and the lack of a hip belt or sternum strap is disappointing. Overall, we were a bit let down with this bag, especially after being so impressed with some of Arc’teryx’s other gear. It’s a solid pack and we have no doubt that it will hold up for years to come, but that seems to be all it has to offer.

Pack Hacker says:

At what size do you think a backpack needs a sternum strap and/or hip belt? We’d love to hear your thoughts!

Another great review. I haven’t found Arcteryx packs to hold a lot of value for me, given the plethora of other options out there. I don’t like how far out it hangs, and the shape is too… cuboid for me. It looks like a Toyota Scion or something.

Oh, and it’s KAI-Ah-HOUGH-Ah County, Ohio (don’t worry, I pronounced it the exact same way when I first went to school up there).

They should have went with the standard laptop compartment against the back. Can you do a review of the Chrome Industries Summoner backpack please, looks interesting 32L. It doesn’t seem to have a hip belt either.

Henry Tran says:

Liking the haircut Tom!

肖中汉 says:

Great review. If you could get a old blade
30, it was more robust, has a aluminum stay, laptop sits close to your back and the straps are much thicker.
